Škegro Family Winery is led by Bariša Skegro, who takes a modern approach to the traditional: love and care for the vineyards, hands-off winemaking, and a genuine desire to bottle the spirit of Herzegovina.
The estate's two hectares of south-facing, terraced vineyards sit in the small village of Radišići, carved into hillsides of calcareous marl, sandstone, and flint, with Mostar sitting close enough to the Croatian coast that the climate runs fully Mediterranean.
Farming is entirely organic, with natural cover crops and no herbicides or pesticides, and the wines are built on indigenous varieties that most of the wine world is only just discovering. We think that's exactly the point.
