TASTING NOTES:
white nectarine, melon, even hints of cucumber or cucumber water. Lovely salinity like sea breeze + oyster shells + crushed seashells. Some herbaceousness as well: salad burnet + a slightly petrol-y finish, a la riesling a bit.
Wonderful, mouthwatering acidity that’s well-incorporated w/ the other elements of the wine. Medium body w/ a complementary texture to the acidity.
FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:
Oysters on the half shell or
grilled fennel drizzled w/ lemon + evoo
or maitake mushrooms, pan-seared, w/ white pepper
ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
This wine blew my mind. In my personal tasting notes, the first thing I wrote was “!” which is my note to myself that the wine is truly special and no one should miss it. It’s the first wine in the wine club from Bosnia Herzegovina, but based on this wine, it won’t be the last. This wine in particular was harder to source than most and it required me to take a big bet and secure quantity way earlier than I’m comfortable w/, but I’m glad I did. I hope you find this to your liking as much as I did.
