Portugal Boutique Winery (PBW) was founded with a focused mission: to seek out exceptional old vineyards across Portugal's lesser-known regions and express them with minimal intervention.
For the Gorro Loureiro, PBW sources fruit from two vineyards in the Lima Valley, roughly 40 years old, planted on schist and granite respectively, and farmed by older local farmers using traditional methods entirely by hand. The winemaking approach is deliberately precise and simple: manual harvest, cold settling, fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, and five months aging on fine lees.
Gorro as a project is defined by its pursuit of old vines in Vinho Verde, farmed responsibly, with simple yet precise winemaking. The goal, according to PBW, is to express Loureiro in the most authentic way possible in its natural home.
