Nose: ripe cherry / cherry jam, blackberry, licorice and anise, lovely forest floor/mushroom, leather, dried rose petal, hints of crème fraîche
Palate: vibrant and youthful but with complexity → full-bodied but not heavy; preserved freshness + elegant, firm tannic structure
FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:

or
Pasta with sausage and leeks
ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
Voliero is a boutique winemaking project from a well-respected winemaker, Andrea Cortonesi. The estate production is extremely limited - on the order of ~1,000 cases per year across their Rosso and their Brunello bottlings. The vineyards are situated at slightly higher elevations, which result in a fresher, leaner expression of Sangiovese from Montalcino - a style that I happen to be a huge admirer of.
