TASTING NOTES:
Citrus first - lime zest, lemon pith, grapefruit - but a lot follows. Straw/hay, horse hair. Lightly smells of nectarine too + papaya. On the palate, I notice more caramelized apple, brown butter, and some tropical fruits.
FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:
Green papaya salad w/ sesame or ginger
or
Roast chicken w/ herb butter
or
Fried artichokes
or
Goat cheese crostini w/ fig
ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
Bruno is simply a phenomenal winemaker. We first met back in 2019, and I’ve adored his wines ever since. He is whimsical and disciplined - seemingly contradictory traits that are both necessary to make wines as expressive + distinctive (in a good way!) as his. When we met, he was endlessly curious and had this little smile, a permanent, and a mischievous one, but his wines were fluid, exceptional, inspiring, and disciplined. May we all try and bring a little more Bruno-like whimsy into our lives. I know I need it.
