TASTING NOTES:
Strawberry, blackberry → ripe but not overly; pencil shavings and pepperiness; both black pepper + more vegetal green pepper. Lightly, lightly, game-y. Very light baking spice as well. Hints of floral: roses.
Balanced, structured, complex wine w/ bright acidity, full body w/ velvety tannins that build to a wonderful, prominent crescendo.
FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:
Steak au poivre (steak w/ green peppercorn sauce)
or
Mushroom w/ same preparation
ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
It’s not easy to successfully emulate a Bordeaux blend, let alone do it successfully while making it your own - and in Lebanon of all places. Given the geopolitical climate of the world over the past few decades (and increasingly so in the last 5 years) w/ increased anti-Lebanon sentiment, Lebanon has struggled to find a place on the world wine stage. We can even ask ourselves: how many wines from Lebanon did I drink last year? Or ever, ever? Hopefully, this wine is a convincing argument to drink more of them in the future.
