ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
Filippo Mangione runs the estate on the northern slopes of Mt. Etna practicing manual, organic farming and preserving/cultivating old vines. It’s a small estate he manages, producing in the range of just ~1,000–1,500 cases of wine per year, which allows for maximum terroir expression because the wine we’re tasting comes from quite small plots as opposed to blending across 20 large parcels at which point you’re no longer tasting any particular terroir because it’s been blended out. This Nerello Mascalese-led blend is great for Pinot Noir lovers.
