There's a version of wine culture that tells you refinement starts at $50. It’s true that there can be a big jump up in quality above $50, but there doesn’t necessarily have to be a big jump down under $50. In this range, you start finding growers who've been farming the same land for generations and producers who don't have a big marketing budget.
