TASTING NOTES:

Sage, lemons, persimmons, wet slate, dark rocks (not gravel-y), piney mountain air, goat skin, pine needles, white fruits

Bright acidity and fairly full-bodied w/ perhaps a touch of tannins from the short skin contact.

FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:

Chili-rubbed grilled endives w/ crushed + toasted almonds on top

ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:

My close friends Zsófi and Gábor make this (and other beautiful, age-worthy volcanic white wines). They cultivate a handful of hectares in Somló and are beautiful, warm people who are curious about the world ♥

Juhfark (this varietal) accounts for less than 0.002% of global vineyard plantings, but it’s an astonishingly dynamic wine grape with great longevity
