ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
Somló is one of my all-time favorite regions for terroir-driven, textural white wines. The volcanic + ancient seabed soil along with unapologetically Hungarian varieties that are cultivated make Somló a simply standout region. Gábor and Zsofi are the winemakers, and I count them among close friends — having spent time together in multiple countries over dozens of bottles of wine. They focus on allowing the mineral, textural influences of Somló to shine in the glass. This Hárslevelű is no different — expressive and age-worthy.
