TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Crisp apple and pear, leather, chalky minerality, aged parmesan, limestone
Palate: Linear, direct, mineral-y; not your typical fruit/floral/bready style of Champagne. Much more vertical and mineral.
FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:
Lobster with herb butter
or
Brie-style soft cheese with apple slices + baguette
ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
Pinot Meunier has by many been considered more of a filler/blending grape, but Eric Taillet views Meunier as a wine grape with finesse and an ability to express terroir. With ExclusiviT, I’m interpreting Eric to be making a statement about Pinot Meunier by vinifying it as a 100% varietal Blanc de Noirs that showcases how sleek, direct, and mineral-driven Pinot Meunier from Vallée de la Marne can be. This is a more serious and austere expression of Champagne, so if you tend to prefer more approachable Champagne, this may not be for you.
