TASTING NOTES:
Nose: refrained bouquet → milder aromatic intensity; dark fruit, blackberry; white pepper + green pepper; graphite/pencil shavings; wet slate minerality
Palate: Moderate, well-balanced acidity with a lovely tannic structure all underpinned by a velvety body, i.e. very pleasant mouthfeel
FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATION:
Beef bourguignon (or with mushroom instead for vegetarian)
ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
The estate has existed since 1825, but it was in 1988 when the current winemaker Jacques-Henri succeeded his father, with an aim to make terroir-driven wines. Jacques-Henri’s decision to take care of our terroir and expression of its quality has always been our motto—an approach that is founded on nothing more than attention and appreciation. Jacques-Henri matures wines with an average age of 40 years old oak barrels, something quite unusual in Bordeaux.
