ASHWIN'S REFLECTION:
Grillo is one of Sicily’s indigenous grapes (white) that was originally linked to the production of sweet wine in western Sicily → Marsala. The Caruso family is reclaiming the narrative around white wine from western Sicily by highlighting Grillo as a dry white wine with depth and finesse - something that Marsala is often characterized as lacking. Much less well-known than its Eastern-Sicily counterparts, the Caruso family aims to earn western Sicily wines a place at our table - and deservedly so, in my opinion.
